Hillside won’t leave you out in the cold

Automatic Oil Delivery DE, MD, PA mascot CharlieSouthward shifts of the north polar vortex, occurring in December 2013 and January 2014 brought lots of snow and wind to our area last winter. To the delight of skiers, forecasts are similar for this winter. For the rest of us, visions of shoveling driveways, de-icing sidewalks, and keeping our homes comfortably warm this winter might already be sending chills through us. For those using heating oil, it might even cause a bit of unrest. Despite other area suppliers rationing home heating oil and leaving some customers without heat in the dead of winter last year, Hillside HVAC never resorted to rationing oil for our customers. In fact, we even welcomed many new customers during the brutal weather. Remember those mountains of snow as wave after wave of snowstorms hit our area? The perceived shortage of oil due to rationing was no actual shortage. There was, however, a real market reaction to the short supply of other fuels (such as propane), which raised demand for heating oil and diesel fuel. With other means of heating a home becoming available and more attractive, nationally the demand for heating oil has steadily decreased. That does not hold true for our area, where the demand remains strong. Roughly 5.5 million households in the Northeast region of the US rely on home heating oil to warm their homes. Hillside HVAC is preparing for this upcoming winter and will always do our best to meet the demands of our customers.

Oil Tank Warranty for $79!

Now is a good time to consider the heating oil tank warranty program that Hillside offers. Before this heating season starts, make sure you are protected. The program is very simple, $79 for 12 months coverage. This warranty is against leakage of fuel from most above ground or basement oil tank. A product called TANK-GUARD is added to your fuel oil tank once a year. TANK-GUARD is so confident in their product that Hillside will replace your heating oil tank if it leaks, once enrolled in the program.

Enrollment is easy, simply call our office and let us know you are interested. At your first delivery this year our delivery driver will give your tank a visual inspection and add the TANK-GUARD corrosion protection. There is some fine print, but very little, that info is HERE. The program is simple, easy to understand, and a great value for a heating oil customer.

Heating Oil Prices at a 3 1/2 Year Low

Retail heating oil prices are the lowest they have been since December 2010. That is 3 ½ years ago. We understand that this is still not considered a “good” or “low” price, but hopefully the decline this summer is a good sign for us Americans and the price of heating our homes. If you were considering getting some heating oil, this is the lowest our price has been in a long time. Fun during the winter? There have been times this winter that we have all thought life could never be fun again. The coldest winter in a long time has grabbed ahold of us recently. As inconvenient as this winter has been, there is still fun to be had in the winter, especially out in the snow. Those of us with Mountain Dogs know how to enjoy the snow.

Everyone at Hillside is working hard to respond to our customers and their needs as quickly as possible. This unusually cold and snowy winter has meant there are days that our trucks have to stay off the roads for safety reasons, creating delivery delays. Our automatic customers can always rest assured that we take weather into account, and make automatic deliveries accordingly.

More snow and nasty weather is predicted. This will lead to unsafe driving conditions and potential delays. Hillside has the hardest working crew in our area. Our employees are dedicated to serving our customers with heating oil, and heating HVAC services. The delays caused by weather are completely out of our control. Please understand that any delay is not due to lack of concern or commitment to customer service excellence.

Delivery and service to our valued customers is a priority to Hillside. Our goal is to ensure that everyone stays warm during these cold winter days. While we typically can promise next-day delivery most of the year, this winter is throwing up obstacles at every turn. Are you reading this from the comfort of your warm and cozy home? Are you taking an “Adult Snow Day”? Snow has always been the final sign that the cold weather is here to stay for a while. If you have not checked your heating oil tank yet this season, be sure to get a reading. Once the snowfall comes regularly deliveries may, unfortunately, be delayed due to driving and plow conditions. If you are expecting an oil delivery, please make sure there is a path and/or access to your tank or heating oil tank fill for your delivery driver. Be careful not to cover your heating oil fill pipe with snow you may have removed from your driveway. If you are on automatic delivery, rest assured that Hillside will not allow you to run low. Our amazing dispatcher, Mark, monitors the upcoming weather forecasts and creates our delivery routes knowing where we can and cannot reach during snowy conditions.
